Wedding Invitation Etiquette

It is a common perception by most of to be wed couples that wedding invitations carry very little use. They feel that any wedding invitation is nothing but a piece of paper sent to invite the wedding guest generally forgotten as the wedding ends.

This is definitely wrong. In fact one should be aware of etiquette for wedding invitations also. Simply because wedding invitations do give the guests a preview about how the wedding is celebrated. They can know using wedding invitations what they would wear and try not to commit any violation in wedding etiquette for clothing and dress, also they can know how formal or informal the event would be so they will know what to expect in the wedding reception.

More over, any nicely made wedding invitation will leave a lasting impression on your wedding. Your guests will now remember you though your wedding invitation.

Following are useful information about etiquette for wedding invitations:

The Etiquette for wedding invitations Fact 1:

What should be the wordings on your invitation?

You can always be the way you want formal or informal the way you wish. Often we see the formal wordings on wedding invitations like:

(centered) Mr. and Mrs. Richard Branson Kindly request your presence at the wedding of their daughter Rachel Branson to Mr. Matthew B Phoenix son of Mr. and Mrs. John Phoenix

Feel free to replace the words of the example above and try to fit your own words most especially if you happen to be the couple who go to invite. Etiquette for wedding invitations lets you be poetic as well since being funny is quite essential in public ceremonies so that the guests are pleased as they see the invitation.

Wedding Etiquette On Invitations Fact 2:

Who should be invited? Etiquette for wedding invitations is never rigid. Once, it was a convention that the very father of bride hosting the wedding should be only one person who can do the inviting. Look today, couples started to honor their parents, letting them take up invitation work The etiquette for wedding invitations can often help one to celebrate a great wedding.

Wedding invitations are a big deal. Long after the wedding ends people hold onto the invitations. They also set the stage for the wedding by giving invited guests a feel for the overall class and production of the occasion.

Just as the rehearsal dinner is a big part of the wedding, the rehearsal dinner invitations can be just as important as the wedding invitations when it comes to giving a positive impression on the event. This will also become a treasured memory and take a place in the family treasure chest.

One element of these invitations is to whom they're sent. It's pretty simple. People who have a place in the wedding receive an invite to the rehearsal dinner. This includes the parents of the bride and groom, as well as the bridal party, and any other family and friends who the bride and groom think should attend. Don't forget the priest, minister or official who oversees the ceremony. Keep the list relatively small, limited only to those who have responsibilities during the wedding.

The design and printing of these invitations is important. Often it's the very same company responsible for the wedding invitations. It's probably the best way. The fewer service providers with a hand in the wedding the better. Also important is a consistent design. It's a lot easier this way to create invitations that highlight the same elements as the main invitations.

And don't forget the possibility of saving money. The vendor may offer a discount if all the work is given to them. However it's the groom's parents who usually oversee the reception dinner. Letting them oversee a new design might make them happier. Who knows, a new design might also add some flavor to the occasion.

A big part of the wedding is the rehearsal dinner. It's sort of a gimme. The wedding benefits from quality rehearsal dinner invitations, while bad ones can set a negative tone.

Sweet Ideas for Valentines Day!

Valentine's Day or Saint Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people throughout the world. In the West, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

An alternative theory from Belarus states that the holiday originates from the story of Saint Valentine, who upon rejection by his mistress was so heartbroken that he took a knife to his chest and sent her his still-beating heart as a token of his undying love for her. Hence, heart-shaped cards are now sent as a tribute to his overwhelming passion and suffering. [1]

The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines." Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten notes have largely given way to mass-produced greeting cards.[2] The sending of Valentines was a fashion in nineteenth-century Great Britain, and, in 1847, Esther Howland developed a successful business in her Worcester, Massachusetts home with hand-made Valentine cards based on British models. The popularity of Valentine cards in 19th-century America was a harbinger of the future commercialization of holidays in the United States.[3]

The U.S. Greeting Card Association estimates that approximately one billion valentines are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year behind Christmas. The association estimates that women purchase approximately 85 percent of all valentines.

Numerous early Christian martyrs were named Valentine.[5] Until 1969, the Catholic Church formally recognized eleven Valentine's Days. The Valentines honored on February 14 are Valentine of Rome (Valentinus presb. m. Romae) and Valentine of Terni (Valentinus ep. Interamnensis m. Romae).[6] Valentine of Rome[7] was a priest in Rome who suffered martyrdom about AD 269 and was buried on the Via Flaminia. His relics are at the Church of Saint Praxed in Rome.[8] and at Whitefriar Street Carmelite Church in Dublin, Ireland.

Valentine of Terni[9] became bishop of Interamna (modern Terni) about AD 197 and is said to have been killed during the persecution of Emperor Aurelian. He is also buried on the Via Flaminia, but in a different location than Valentine of Rome. His relics are at the Basilica of Saint Valentine in Terni (Basilica di San Valentino).[10]

The Catholic Encyclopedia also speaks of a third saint named Valentine who was mentioned in early martyrologies under date of February 14. He was martyred in Africa with a number of companions, but nothing more is known about him..[11]

No romantic elements are present in the original early medieval biographies of either of these martyrs. By the time a Saint Valentine became linked to romance in the fourteenth century, distinctions between Valentine of Rome and Valentine of Terni were utterly lost.[12]

In the 1969 revision of the Roman Catholic Calendar of Saints, the feastday of Saint Valentine on February 14 was removed from the General Roman Calendar and relegated to particular (local or even national) calendars for the following reason: "Though the memorial of Saint Valentine is ancient, it is left to particular calendars, since, apart from his name, nothing is known of Saint Valentine except that he was buried on the Via Flaminia on February 14."[13] The feast day is still celebrated in Balzan (Malta) where relics of the saint are claimed to be found, and also throughout the world by Traditionalist Catholics who follow the older, pre-Vatican II calendar.

The Early Medieval acta of either Saint Valentine were excerpted by Bede and briefly expounded in Legenda Aurea.[14] According to that version, St Valentine was persecuted as a Christian and interrogated by Roman Emperor Claudius II in person. Claudius was impressed by Valentine and had a discussion with him, attempting to get him to convert to Roman paganism in order to save his life. Valentine refused and tried to convert Claudius to Christianity instead. Because of this, he was executed. Before his execution, he is reported to have performed a miracle by healing the blind daughter of his jailer.

Legenda Aurea still providing no connections whatsoever with sentimental love, appropriate lore has been embroidered in modern times to portray Valentine as a priest who refused an unattested law attributed to Roman Emperor Claudius II, allegedly ordering that young men remain single. The Emperor supposedly did this to grow his army, believing that married men did not make for good soldiers. The priest Valentine, however, secretly performed marriage ceremonies for young men. When Claudius found out about this, he had Valentine arrested and thrown in jail. In an embellishment to The Golden Legend, on the evening before Valentine was to be executed, he wrote the first "valentine" himself, addressed to a young girl variously identified as his beloved,[15] as the jailer's daughter whom he had befriended and healed,[16] or both. It was a note that read "From your Valentine."

Valentine's Day is a good day to secure a relationship that is on a bit of a shaky ground. How, you say? Well its a way to really show the person you love just how much you do love them, but remember it can also backfire. Showing your love shouldn't be left to Valentine's day, it should be a continuous process.

A relationship can only work if you continue to work at it,Love is something that needs continuous work or we forget and take it for granted. You can never take Love for granted, for it can disappear in a moment.

Valentine's Day should only be used as a catalyst to reassure the one you love.

My ideas for perfect Valentines day gifts does not involve Pricey chocolates or Jewelry, rather simple gifts from the heart. Sure a diamond or chocolates will impress her at the time, but a gift that comes directly from your heart will long be remembered years after the chocolates have disappeared and the diamonds have lost there shine.

Through the ages Love poems have filled a woman's heart with joy, and if you touch a woman's heart, you will reach her soul. Go deep inside yourself and find the words, your words that will express your love. Add a moonlit walk along with a single rose and you will truly give the one you love a perfect Valentines Gift.

Remembering where you first met and taking her there to recreate that date, will also impress her, more that a last minute expensive gift will.

If you do feel you need to get her a gift really think it our, do not get her a vacuum, or other cleaning utensils, this will destroy a potential romance very quickly. If you haven't been together very long keep it simple, instead of a dozen roses, give her 1 single rose telling her that she is the perfect rose in your life, or a soft cuddly teddy bear and a note that says, you are my favorite snuggly person. Give her some bath and body items that she can pamper herself with, and maybe a romantic book with that. It will show her that you are thinking of her.

Special gifts from the heart will set your Valentine on fire!!

Superior Wisconsin's North End

Superior Wisconsin's North End has carried a bad rap for way too long. I recently opened a new store in the North End Called Candy Caboose. In the time I have been open I have met many of the local Neighbors and kids. They consist of an eclectic group of people with established roots here in the North End. I also live in the North End, and have for a little over 2 years, and I have found it to be a quiet community filled with people who have lived in the same area for many many years. Yes sometimes it has its little interruptions but for the most part The North End of Superior is filled with wonderful caring people who live there lives for there families. Most of the children I have met either Black or white have been for the most part polite, and friendly.
To me the best part of Superior dwells not in Billings park, or along mall drive but here right in the North End.
Superior Is filled with History,

The early history of Superior and Douglas County is a story of the Native American. The first-known inhabitants of what is now Douglas County were Mound Builders. These people appeared on the shores of Lake Superior sometime after the latest glacier receded. They mined copper in the Minong Range and at Manitou Falls on the Black River. They pounded this metal into weapons, implements, and ornaments, which were later found buried in mounds with their dead. Their civilization was eventually overrun by other tribes, mainly of Muskhogean and Iroquois stock, and disappeared as a distinct culture in late prehistoric American times.

The first-known Europeans to visit the area were the French. In 1618, Stephen Brule, a voyager for Champlain, coasted along the south shore of Lake Superior where he met the Ojibwa. Upon returning to Quebec, he carried back some copper specimens and a glowing account of the region. In 1632, Champlain’s map appeared showing “Lac Superior de Tracy” as Lake Superior and the lower end shore as “Fond du Lac”. Soon after, fur trading companies established settlements, while missionaries came bringing with them the first touches of European civilization.

For more than a century, the Hudson's Bay Company, followed by the Northwestern Fur Company in 1787 and later, the John Jacob Astor Fur Company, maintained trading posts with the Native Americans. With the coming of settlement, however, the voyager and fur trader faded into the misty twilight of a romantic and historic past.

Douglas County lies on one of the major water highways used by early travelers and voyagers of inland America. This water trail, the Bois Brule-St. Croix River Portage Trail, was the most convenient connecting link between Lake Superior and the Mississippi River. The Bois Brule and St. Croix River systems were only separated by a short portage over the Continental Divide near Solon Springs, Wisconsin. The northward traveler used this water trail to take him to Lake Superior, while the downstream traveler could use it to go southwest to the Gulf of Mexico, unhindered by portages, by using the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers. This waterway was also an important route in the Wisconsin fur trade, particularly when the French War with the Fox Indians closed the more southern routes. Spurred by the prospect of lucrative shipping and iron ore industry, businessmen from Chicago and St. Paul laid claim to the site which became the city of Superior, and plans began for the plotting of a great city

The first log cabin in Superior was erected in September 1853 on the banks of the Nemadji River, paralleling the breaking of ground for the locks and ship canal at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. This brought the dawning of a new age for the infant city, Superior. Immediately there was eagerness for a railroad from Lake Superior to the Pacific Coast. This was later realized with construction of the Northern Pacific, and the dream of a rail and water highway from coast to coast was born. In 1889, the booming settlement at the Head of the Lakes would soon be named the county seat for Wisconsin’s 4th largest county. Between 1890 and 1920, the city was heavily settled by new arrivals from the eastern United States as well as Immigrants from over 15 different countries, including England, Scotland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Croatia. Named for Senator Stephen A. Douglas of Illinois, famed opponent of Abraham Lincoln, Douglas County became the site where its largest city and county seat, Superior, would be located, and money was pumped into the city’s shipping and railway industries.

Many people that live in the North End have strong ties to the original settlers of Superior.
The North End is filled with Hard working , low to moderate income people who live for there families, not for their material possessions. We can all learn a lot from The people who have called the North End home.

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA

Barack H. Obama is the 44th President of the United States.

His story is the American story — values from the heartland, a middle-class upbringing in a strong family, hard work and education as the means of getting ahead, and the conviction that a life so blessed should be lived in service to others.

With a father from Kenya and a mother from Kansas, President Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961. He was raised with help from his grandfather, who served in Patton's army, and his grandmother, who worked her way up from the secretarial pool to middle management at a bank.

After working his way through college with the help of scholarships and student loans, President Obama moved to Chicago, where he worked with a group of churches to help rebuild communities devastated by the closure of local steel plants.

He went on to attend law school, where he became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. Upon graduation, he returned to Chicago to help lead a voter registration drive, teach constitutional law at the University of Chicago, and remain active in his community.

President Obama's years of public service are based around his unwavering belief in the ability to unite people around a politics of purpose. In the Illinois State Senate, he passed the first major ethics reform in 25 years, cut taxes for working families, and expanded health care for children and their parents. As a United States Senator, he reached across the aisle to pass groundbreaking lobbying reform, lock up the world's most dangerous weapons, and bring transparency to government by putting federal spending online.

He was elected the 44th President of the United States on November 4, 2008, and sworn in on January 20, 2009. He and his wife, Michelle, are the proud parents of two daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7.

President Obama is truly the melting pot of America.
I have lived all my life in the United States, I am a part of the Baby boom age, and I truly believe this man is our hope for the future.
So many of us spend our time, watching actors and actresses in there pretend world. Just so we do not have to think about our real world. The real world is filled with hunger, violence, and more. Alot of this happens in our own country, but we tend to look away. Pretend it doesn't exist.
The United States was once proud of who we are, but we have slowly lost that integrity, that belief in our selves.
I believe Now is the time to believe in our selves. We truly are the world within. People from all over the world flock to our Country because they want what we have, doesn't that tell anyone anything? WE have so much and yet we feel our lives are not what they should be. Yes our Country is at its worst right now, with unemployment, recession, financial difficulties, but we will come through them, just as we always do. We are a country filled with riches, we just need to remember that to find the riches we need to travel through the mud first.
A diamond becomes a diamond after many years of erosion, the United States will do the same.
I believe President Obama is the catalyst that will enrich our, will help us to once again become the Diamond of the world we once were, but it will take heat, it will take strife, but we will survive, once again and take our place once again on the crown of world Dominance, not with war, not with hate but with Justice, integrity, and Hope.
Life is what you make of it, isn't it time we make our lives a world we can leave to our children without regret, without hate?

How to Profit From a Blog

Blogs can be for profit or non-profit but most
bloggers blog for the purpose of making money. There
may be some contents published to simply provide an
outlet for voicing out the bloggers’ opinions and
share their thoughts. However, the general population
of bloggers has the intention of profiting
financially. Fortunately, there are several methods of
profiting from a blog and applying these methods can
help you gain money.

The Advertisements

Selling space for advertisers is one of the most
common ways to profit from a blog. Since blogs that
have a considerable amount of traffic can make income
with ad sales, make sure that you have a target
audience. The reason why bloggers choose to sell
advertising is that it is a passive form of income
once the traffic has progressed. Although it takes
work to look for advertisers and maintain the ads on
the blog, those who can achieve it can gain reasonable
amount of money with the ads.

Compared to other forms of profiting from a blog,
selling advertisement space can be one of the most
consistent revenue streams. If you are able to
maintain your ad slots filled, you should have a very
good idea of just how much you can make every month.

On the negative side, selling ads requires you to have
some kind of established traffic. Traffic is important
because it draws interest from potential advertisers.
You might find it hard to sell an ad space without
traffic and it will most likely not produce much
revenue. Additionally, the blog must have a target
audience in order to achieve the maximum amount of
cash for advertisement space. Remember that
advertisers are more likely to pay if your target
audience is a match to theirs.

Affiliate programs are also a major resource of
profits for several bloggers. Affiliate programs are
excellent in a sense that they enable you to have the
opportunity to make money even if your blog has a
small audience. However, one bad side to affiliate
programs is that there can be instances where you
cannot make any money at all.

Newly created blogs feature affiliate ads most of the
time compared to selling space directly to
advertisers. Since selling ads is hard to do without
much traffic, affiliate programs are perfect for new
blogs. More so, they can be easily maintained and only
take very little time.

Promoting and Premium Content

Bloggers who are service providers at the same time
have an excellent opportunity to look for clients and
increase their rates. Maintaining a blog that focuses
on your area of expertise can help you easily become a
recognized authority in your field. Additionally, it
can aid potential clients to find you. You can also
benefit from the increase in demand of your services
and improved reputation that you build, which enable
you to charge more for your services.

Aside from promoting your services, selling premium
contents are also excellent ways to profit from a
blog. Blogs are a massive source of information and
remember that not everything has to be free. There are
bloggers and business that attained success by selling
some of their work. There are blogs that sell
memberships on their Web sites. Although selling
premium content is possible in any field, you must
have the capability to give something to the reader
that is worth paying for.
